Word of Life Argentina
I'm sending you off to open their eyes so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light.

"I'm sending you off to open their eyes so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light, see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God. I'm sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven, and a place in the family, inviting them into the company of those who begin real living by believing in me." Acts 26:18

Wow. Sorry that its been so long since we last updated you!
Heres a little update on what we've been doing:

1. Villa 31
As most of you know we were able to help with a Bible Club in a very dangerous ghetto of Buenos Aires!
It was an incredible time. We joined up with a church in the city who is leading this club every week. Our job was to bring a program that would reach out to the ghetto and give us chances to share the Gospel! We went with a team of 18 from Word of Life. The first thing we did was split up in groups and just walk through the ghetto and invite any kids we saw to a special program.
It's really hard to describe the things we saw...
First of all the ghetto is like a secret village in the middle of a fairly wealthy part of Buenos Aires.
There are just narrow passage ways every where you look. The houses are just shacks stacked on top of eachother. We would see up to 4 or 5 shacks bulit on top of the other. There were kids running everywhere, dogs running everywhere, both up on the roofs. We saw a little baby of no more than 2 years, walking through the street all alone. No one was with him. Anyone could have taken him. Drunks at 10 in the morning. Basically the best way to describe it was Dark and Dirty.

We started off with a program for children. Over 140 kids came. We had lots of fun games, which were really hard to control with so many kids, haha. But they had a blast!! And afterwards we split the kids up into age groups, and took the opportunity to share the Gospel with them. We were also able to share the gospel with some parents and realitives of the kids that came to watch! Praise God!

Then in the evening, we had a Bible Club for teenagers. There were 25 Teens that came, and Gabe was able to preach that night, and challenge them about identifying themselves with Christ. It is a very hard place to be a christian, and these kids, who are saved, need  alot of discipleship and encouragement! We had such a wonderful time and we PRAISE GOD for what HE is doing in this Ghetto!

2. Discipleship
Gabe has 3 guys from the Bible Institute that he has started meeting with and mentoring! And I, Lyndee, have one girl from Panama! We are so excited to have this opportunity to meet with them every week and help them grow through out this year! There is a woman in town, who has asked me to start having a Bible Study with her every week. This past monday was our first meeting, and it was incredible! She has such a hunger to learn and is really excited to have someone help her study and learn more of Gods Word! We are continuing to visit our special neighborhood, Esperanza, and seeing how we can meet the needs of our friends in this community. The other day we went and our 14 year old friend, had not eaten that whole day. They literally had no food in the house, and no money to buy anything. We praise God that He is allowing us to minister to these families, but please pray. There is a lot of darkness in some of these families, and Satan has a very strong hold on their lives.

3. Translating
This past week a group of students from Word of Life New York, came down on a missions trip
We were so blessed to be able to join them in their ministry outings and help tranlaste! We went with them to evangelize in our own town here, and we were able to go with them to help a church planting ministry that has started churches in some very poor and rough neighborhoods. We went with them to two different neighborhoods and were able to do some evangelism, and share the gospel through a drama and singing program. Over 23 people came to know the Lord this past week through the ministry of these students! Praise the Lord for using His children despite language barriers!

This week and every week, we meet so many people who are deeply deeply confused about the Gospel.
Satan has blinded so many eyes here in South America. With all of their idols, all of their Saints... they are missing out on the Power of Jesus Christ, and they cant even see it. Our hearts were breaking, as we meet so many people who were too busy to stop and listen, so many people who wont even consider that Virgen Mary has no power to save. So many people trying to work their way to heaven. So many people lost.
This verse kept coming to mind.
""You are my witnesses," declares the LORD,
"and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.
I, even I, am the LORD,
and apart from me there is no savior. Isaiah 43:10,11

Amen. and Amen.
Well that is about it for now, We have been really busy these past weeks, and we are just LOVING all the work that God is doing down here! Thanks for all of your prayers!

Villa 31

Tomorrow, the 17th Gaby, and I, as well as a group of students are going to a place called Villa 31.
It is a ghetto in dowtown Buenos Aires. Tomorrow we are helping to start a brand new Bible club in this neighborhood! Praise God! It is going to be so exciting, but we covet your prayers for safety, and more importantly for SALVATIONS!!!
Villa 31 is one of the most dangerous and most impoverished ghettos in the city of Buenos Aires, and we praise God for the opportunity to shine some light in this dark place!
We are leaving in the morning and are going to be holding a "mufa pufa"  basically a time of crazy games. Then after this we will be having a kids program, with more games, and then of course the Gospel message, then later on in the evening we will be having the Bible Club. This evening will be focused on the teens and young adults. Gabe is going to be preaching tomorrow night, and will be giving a clear gospel presentation! PLEASE pray for Him as He preaches, that God will speak through him and that the hearts of the people will be open to Gods Word and will see there need for a Saviour!

Gabe is feeling really sick today, and so we are praying for him to get better by tomorrow so that he can preach!! Please pray for safety for the whole group that is going and that God will do something INCREDIBLE in this Ghetto! thanks so much for your prayers!

To OPEN their eyes:)

The first week back

Well this week has been pretty eventful!
We have been spending a lot of time trying to get moved into our apartment!
Its very tiny, but it will be good for just the two of us! It has a tiny bathroom, and then one big room which is the living room, bedroom, and kitchen all in one! its cool because the bed pulls out of the wall:) haha its pretty old school, so we are trying to add our little touch to it.

We are painting the whole place and hopefully will be able to finish that up tomorrow!
Today we bought our table and chairs and so we just need to paint them as well!

This week at Word of Life is the Missionary Retreat for all of Latin America.
It is pretty exciting, there are around 350 missionaries from Argentina, peru, chile, bolovia, and paraguay gathered together this week for the retreat! We will be having meetings throughout this whole week, and getting to spend some good time being encouraged, and refreshed, before we begin full force with our ministry!

Well thats about it for now,
Que Dios les bendiga en este dia hermosa:)

Sweet Home Argentina

All we can say is PRAISE The LORD... we finally made it!

Let me tell you a little bit about our travel adventure...

We left monday afternoon around 12-20, we arrived on time and everything went well at the check in, we had 2 bags that were overweight but it was easy to take some things out and leave them with mom and dad.
Saying goodbye went really well.. we could totally feel the prayers of everyone during this time. thank you!

When we arrived at our gate we found out that there was a two hour delay on our plane coming in. The time went pretty fast but our plane did not. It ended up being close to a 3 hour wait and so we were unsure as to whether or not we would catch our connecting flight in Atlanta.

Turns out we missed our flight, and that the next available flight was 24 hours later. So they gave us vouchers for a hotel and for food... heres where our little story gets exciting...
We arrived at our hotel around 10'30 dropped our bags off and went to find a computer to inform our families about our delay. I, Lyndee, went to get us pizza at the restaurant, Gaby joined me and we had about a 20 minute wait for a free pizza that was big enough for Gaby only... so we decided to walk across the street to KFC and buy some more food.

Well by this time it was 11' and raining and all the fast food places were closed. So we tried to walk through the drive through... wasnt open either, but we ended up meeting a homeless woman.
She kept asking us for money becuase she said she had three grandkids to feed and wanted to buy spaghetti. We offered her our pizza instead, she said no, she wanted the money, we offered the pizza again, still no. she just wanted money... so we started to leave and then she decided she wanted the pizza.

So there we were 11'30, raining, and no food. we walked to arbys, tried to walk through the drive through, and we got to the window, they told us we could order... but then a car came. and they had to take them first. then we waited. and ten more cars came.
we left. went to a gas sation. they had nothing. went back to arbys. waited 20 more minutes outside for food. nothing. walked across the street to another gas station. finally found microwaveable burritos and went to the hotel.

It was a loooong night. haha.

The next day we had to check out at 12 pm
we went to the airport and had an 8 hour wait.
Thankfully we had a fun day and the time went by really fast.
We boarded. took off. couldnt sleep the whole night. arrived. slept. ate steak! and then had a great day with Gabes family!!!

Thanks for all of your prayers for our safety! All in all the trip went very well and we Praise God for the safety !

Today is the day!

Wow.
It is so hard to believe how fast this day came!
Today we are heading out around 1:30 to go to the airport, our plane to Atlanta takes off around 4:30 and then we take off for Buenos Aires around 9:00 pm.
Please please keep us in your prayers as we travel! Our bags are sooo stuffed, but hopefully not overweight, and we are planning on wearing like 4 layers of clothes just to take what we couldnt fit! haha... that will be a funny sight. Penny was trying to convince Lyndee to stuff a soccer ball, that we wanted to take, underneath her shirt. But we thought that would be a really hard gimmick to pull off, haha.
I will be sure to post some pictures of our trip once we arrive! We should be landing tomorrow morning around
7 am.
Thank you to all of our church family, immediate family, and friends that came to our commissioning service yesterday... We were SOOO blessed by the love and support we received. We are convinced that God was glorified yesterday, by his Church, His Bride, rising up to send us off. It was such a picture to us of Christs love and faithfulness! So thank you again to everyone.
Okay well there is still some last minute packing that needs to be done!

To God be the Glory!

Well we had a wonderful time in Texas and were really really blessed by all of the wonderful people that we met :) Everything about the trip was wonderful, the food, the rental car, the house we stayed in, the weather....we actually got to wear short sleves outside!!! that was like a first for us in a long time! haha.
We met some wonderful new friends, reconnected with some old friends ( not in years, but time we've known them:) and also got to tour around Dallas.
We were also able to spend some great time with April, and had a lot of fun with her and kent:) especially when we beat them at pingpong.
So we praise God for a great week and safe trip
Oh!
God also blessed us with more support this week and a washing maching! YEA!
Only 26 more days until we leave... the count down is on!

One month to go

Its hard to believe that our 5 months living in PA are almost over.
We have totally enjoyed our time here and the experiences we've had raising support and living with my family. And of course we cant forget to mention the wonderful snowfall experiences that we've had! In spanish we would say that we've received a "monton" of snow. which means a WHOLE LOT.
Anyway, this week we are going to Texas to visit some friends and to spend time with April:) cant wait for that!
I'm guessing that this next 5 weeks are going to fly by....
